Many clients come in to their session asking about exercise, stretching and other forms of movement. I once heard that stretching is another form of massage since it helps increase blood flow to the muscles and their attachments and I think that statement sums it up very well. Just think how nice it will be to enhance your massage benefits with some simple lifestyle changes?
Plan out your strategy for your new exercise routine. Maybe begin with 5-10 minutes of gentle stretching then go for a 20 minute walk. The summer months are perfect for beginning a walking (or jogging!) routine.
The most important thing is to begin slowly, it's hard to maintain a routine if you are sore and exhausted.
